Here's an easy side dish to serve for Thanksgiving or with other roasted meats.



  • pound  medium-sized sweet potatoes or yams cubed
  • 1/2  cup  half and half
  • 1/4  cup  Unsalted butter room temperature
  • 1/4  cup  honey
  • 3   Large eggs lightly beaten
  • 3/4  teaspoon  ground allspice
  • teaspoon  cinnamon
  • 1/4  cup  pecans toasted and chopped


  1. Butter an 8-inch square glass baking dish. Place potatoes in a large saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to a simmer and partially cover. Cook for 45 - 50 minutes or until potatoes are soft. Drain potatoes.
  2. Place potatoes in a food processor along with half and half, butter, honey, eggs, and allspice. Blend until smooth. Transfer mixture to buttered baking dish.
  3. Bake for 50 minutes until top is brown. Garnish with chopped pecans.
